As the son of a physician, David Block watched from the front lines how a changing healthcare system directly impacted his father.

I watched as not only my father, but other doctors who got into medicine to both help people and make a good living were having tougher and tougher years driven by circumstances largely outside of their control.  Practicing medicine was becoming less lucrative and I saw many doctors lose their passion for the profession of medicine altogether.  Insurance companies were squeezing practitioners as business insurance costs simultaneously skyrocketed.  The profession of medicine changed, and I saw first hand the frustration that this caused.  Ultimately, I knew I could help.  - David Block

Having already successfully accomplished his professional goal of launching and running his own hedge fund and investment firm, David leaned on his extensive background and expertise in the Health & Wellness Industry and launched Block Global Partners to specifically help healthcare practitioners like his father.

Prior to founding Block Global Partners and his hedge fund, Block Capital Partners, David was a Senior Vice President of Equity Research at a leading Los Angeles based investment bank.  At the firm, David became the youngest Equity Research Analyst, Vice President, and Senior Vice President in the company's 38 year history.  Over his tenure at the company, David focused on the Health & Wellness Industry and quickly became an industry expert, winning several accolades for both his research and stock picking skills.  In 2005 and 2006, he won awards for his stock selection skills in The Wall Street Journal's "Best on the Street" survey honoring the top Wall Street analysts in the country and won an award in Forbes' annual survey of "Wall Street's Best Stock Pickers" in 2006.

David appeared in numerous financial publications for his industry expertise, including The Wall Street Journal, Investors Business Daily, Business Week, Forbes, and Barron's, and was often quoted in local and national newspapers and health and wellness industry trade journals.  David attended UCLA, where he was a scholarship athlete, and received a law degree from Pepperdine University School of Law, where he was a Fellow and Founding Student Board Member of the Palmer Center for Entrepreneurship and the Law.
